David G. Edwards Esq., 54, of California, MO, died in an accident on Monday, March 26, 2007 near his home. Born July 18, 1952 in Keokuk, Iowa a son of Raymond Clifford and Lottie Jo McClain Edwards. He attended school in Kahoka, MO, Brookfield, MO, and was a 1970 graduate of Slater, MO High School. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in English in 1974, and was a graduate and benefactor of the University of Missouri Law School in 1983. David practiced law throughout central Missouri over the past 22 years, and had served as assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri. A veteran of the United States Navy he had attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander while serving as a frogman performing underwater demolition and salvage. He is survived by two brothers, his twin Dennis Edwards and Danny Edwards, and one son, Alexander Edwards. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Missouri School of Law.
I still think of Dave regularly because he was such an unforgettable friend. We had some surprisingly rich online conversations about career choices, personal choices and ultimate beliefs for about a year until his untimely death.
