Dorothy Frances Brown, 86, Independence, MO passed away May 14, 2007. Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Friday, May 18, 2007 at Second Presbyterian Church, 318 E 55th St, Kansas City, MO 64113. A family & friends gathering will follow the memorial service to be held at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs. Dorothy was born, the first of three children, April 2, 1921 in Shiloh Valley, IL to Beulah (Usry) & Darby Meyer. She graduated from Belleville HS in IL, where she was active in sports and drum & bugle corps. She will be remembered by her family for her love of the family farm in Pendleton, MO; her faith & love of life; mischievous times with her sister, Evelyn; and her international travels with her dearest friend, Marge Soper. Dorothy will be most remembered by the number one passion in her life, her family. She married Coles Brown during WWII and moved to Chicago where he was stationed. Following the war they moved to University City, MO and raised their family. Dorothy moved to Ocala, FL for several years following her retirement from Farmer Brother?s Coffee Company. Recently, Dorothy returned to the Midwest to join her daughters and their families. She was preceded in death by; sister, Evelyn White; niece, Randa Stone; and great nephew, Christopher. She is survived by: daughter & son in law, Susan & John Still; daughter Jeanne Watson; grandchildren & spouses, Sarah (Travis) Hattaway, Kristie (Justin) Van Voorst, Josh (Lupe) Watson, Taylor (Katie) Still, Graham (Meghan) Still; great grandchildren, Darby & Sadie Hattaway, Josh Watson Jr, Brandon & Brittany Watson; brother, Kenneth Meyer; brother in law, Alfred White; and many nieces, nephews and a ?buddy?
