Emmett “Woody” Wood

Murray Wood, 78, of Columbia, formally of Pilot Grove, entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2007 at Columbia Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at Lohman Chapel in rural Shelby County, MO with the Rev. Jimmy Wood officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mr. Wood was born on January 29, 1928 in Shelby County, Missouri to the late Emmett and Louise (Murray) Wood. Murray served in the United States Army in the Hawaiian islands and on Nov. 20, 1949 he married Ruby Smallwood in Shelbina and she survives him. Woody is also survived by one son: Sammy Wood of Franklin, three daughters: Wanda Kreitel of Pilot Grove, Christina Templeton of Mesquite, NV and Rosemary Arndt of Miami, MO, five sisters Margaret Gilbert and Mary Ellen Dodd both of Shelbina, MO, Susie Spencer of Mount Sterling, KY, Nina Smith of Monroe City, MO and Geneva McCubbin of Auxvasse, MO, as well as thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
